We are studying Vietnam and Korean after we finish World War Two and the Cold War. I love learning about this stuff but after reading about it since like 2 it gets a bit boring and I want to go to bed but I need to finish my notes.

When first DD started middle school, I was amazed at how many pages in her history book were devoted to so many other trivialities vs. WWII! It was by far-and-away THE most pivotol event in recent human history!!!!!
I know it's all a collective history and everything contributes, mostly, to the whole of it, but, good gosh! Relegating WWII to a few pages as opposed to some of the other stuff!

Well, we have to know how we became us, how they vecame them, and how we all exist together but uneasily. Boring but necessary. I STILL love reading history, I read the founding fathers to understand our true history better.

I feel so much better with all the help. Last year the Gatlinburg trip wasn't so hard, this year, way harder.

That is exactly it. I will miss her so much, and her chatter, and made up songs and dances. I will just miss her, but I know, I KNOW this is good for all of them.

My dad was in Vietnam three times as a Navy Corpsman, twice on the gound with the Marines and once on a Naval Hospital ship.

I always thought it refereed to the Roman Empire and it's descent from a thriving capilatist system to a full our and completely unsustainable socialist one.

I actually never considered that phrase in the context of war and America. How strange not to have.
