I ceased being angry about it but every once in a while a man on a phone in a warehouse that knows far less, dares to try to double check me, then calls me a term-OY does that make me feel devalued. The rant was caused by ONE man in one warehouse in Atlanta.
I normally do not speak to him, I aks for another salesman, but gave him a second try. If I am unsure of a fitment, I triple check before I call, since the warehouses are busy it is fast if I can say, "this is Chris from ________, do you have 22 inch, 338's, black, high offset, 6-135?"
He asked the truck year, he asked if I checked my pattern, he asked if I was sure on offset. I reminded him that I always triple check before I call, so as not to waste their time, or mine, he says, "ok, sweetie, just making sure-now you have a nice day sugar"
WTH!!!!! Since i have been in this so long, they all know me, I have met most of them, and industry wide, I am noted for being technically proficient-for a girl. I can own the company, I can be president, I can negotiate deals, make sales, shop for the 4 kinds of insurance we have to carry, and get reduced to bobble head with one comment.
Okay, let me go have a great day, darlins' cause once we add customers to the mix, I just get baffled. They ask for a MAN to speak with, a new supplier got turned down for my business yesterday because he came in asking to cspeak to the man in charge-HIS business was for the MAN nto the secretary. OY. Needless to say, DH heard that, looked at his products and dismissed him.
