No I haven't gone bonkers. Any Canadian in their 30's will remember the famous Bob and Doug MacKenzie skit on SCTV. The show that gave great comediens such as;
John Candy,
Rick Moranis(Honey I shrunk the Kids & voice of Rutt in Brother Bear),
Dave Thomas(Tuke in Brother Bear),
Eugene Levy(American Pie)
and many others their start.
In fact the characters Rutt and Tuke were based on the skits that Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas used to do as Bob and Doug Mackenzie.

Donna, good day, eh! I'm not Canadian, but love the McKenzie brothers!! I have the cassette from way back when but am looking for the CD version. Not long ago I found a copy of their version of "12 Days of Christmas" (from the album) on 45. On the other side, of course, is "Take Off"! They have the movie on DVD at Wal-Mart, so I need to pick it up!

Speaking of Brother Bear, did you catch Rutt and Tuke's reference in their final scene in the movie? "You know what this calls for? A pile of delicious barley and amber wheat on a cool bed of malted hops, eh!"

I had the ALBUM yes real vinyl!!! I think my brother has it now.
My roommates in Florida had the movie on one day when I came home and I stood there for a minute stunned, I thought only Southern Ontario knew who the Mackenzie brothers were. The funny part was that the part of the movie I walked in on was a scene that was filmed on the next street from where I lived in Hamilton when I was in college.

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me....
