I just find it odd that people who say they wish it could be Christmas all year are the same people complaining when stores and WDW put up their decorations and displays early.

1. It's 100% Overrated. You can't deny it, it's the biggest holiday in the WORLD. every one is excited about it. Heck, there are references to, and items relating to Christmas in months BEFORE December. They just can't wait.
2. Commercialism. It's less about spending time and sharing joy and love with your family and friends(and enemies) and more about what you should waste your money on. Sometimes, the Christmas Present you sacrificed your hard earned cash on won't be satisfying to who you're giving it to. There's just no pleasing people. And little twerps will be all wanty and needy. I wonder if they go all out after hearing that Father Christmas is really just a ploy to sell Coca-Cola...
3. Specials and Jingles. During December, you will be hearing Christmas Jingles on the radio and see nothing but Christmas Specials on TV. Hark the Helard Angels Sing was the only tolerable of them all, and I'm getting sick of Jingle Bells and Music from The Nutcracker. Heck, I'm sick of The Nutcracker, period. And how many times will Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" be milked just for money?
I work in retail, I'd have to say the people complaining that Christmas stuff isn't out one day, then coming in the next day and complaining that Christmas stuff is out. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoy Christmas.
The happiest place on earth is where my kids are!
Saw this discussion and had to see what it was about. Dang!! Some very unhappy people out there! Sorry you feel this way about Christmas. I guess if you let all that negative "stuff" get to you then you will be unhappy with it. To me it is the birth of Jesus Christ. That's what my family and I celebrate.
I hate the song The 12 days of Christmas. I wish this carol was retired. How could anyone find listening to a list over and over enjoyable?
I love christmas, but I hate when people get all up in arms over the season and get stressed out. I work in a grocery store and people are so grumpy this time of year. These people just need to take a little breather and not let all of their pent up stress out on strangers. Be happy! It's the key to life!
Disney World is not just a place, but an experience.
Back in the world for the 2013 Marathon Weekend!

We never taught Santa, just Jesus.
I was bugged at the gigantic piles of "stuff" in every store, in every aisle, just piles and piles and full stores. WOrse, if you listen to what they are saying on the phones and to each other, they are spending what they cannot afford, to please someone they do not like, at a once a year gathering of people they ignore 364 days a year.
SO that is the part I do not like- the falseness, and the ridiculous expectations.
Love Jesus, and the movie The Nativity is my favorite ever.
P.U.S.H.-A mantra MOST will not understand.
Disney rocks, Walt was a genius.
I was also not to thrilled to see Valentines stuff out mixed in with the Christmas nearly a week before Christmas. That means Easter stuff will be in stores by 15 Jan. UGH, they do seem to be rather rushing us.

Two things bug me.
1. The nonsense of saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas." The holiday is based on Christ's birth, and anyone who has a problem with that should just not observe it and keep their mouths shut.
2. People who think that you shouldn't encourage Santa Claus if you love Jesus. I love Jesus, but I also play the Santa game, because it is just fun! Now, if Santa takes the place of Jesus, then we have a problem, but we teach my son what Christmas is really all about, and playing Santa is just a fun bonus.

I can't stand all the commercialism going on with this holiday, as mentioned by many posters in this thread. I can't stand christmas music that includes reindeer with shiny noses, talking snowmen, fat guys in red silk, or being heart broken last christmas. I also cannot stand many artists that have their own version of these songs, or other christmas songs, and really cannot carry a tune, and therefore ruining the song alltogether. But mostly, I cannot stand any commercial that takes one of these holiday tunes, and changes the lyrics around to help sell their product during the holiday. This year, it's Best Buy with their annoying people in blue polos, and the triangle player. Ugh!
I get annoyed that the ladies cook, serve, and clean!
When did the menfolk in my family decide that leaving the work to the ladies was ok?
And... why do we let them?
Merry Belated Christmas and Happy Early New Year to all!
Get over it folks. Christmas is really for the kids. We may have to do a lot of running around during the holiday, but when you see a child open a gift from Santa on Christmas morning, it's well worth it. Enjoy Christmas and make it special for your kids.![]()
