Well...there's a long story involved here and let's just we had one and currently we do not. And 99% of the time I don't care, but for the next 2+ weeks I'm wishing we did.
I rarely ever suggest this, but you might check out an electroincs rental
store and get a system for the next two weeks. Locally, the rental place charges $89.00 for 2 weeks. It is a recordable DVR system.

Wow, the opening ceremonies were really good. I LOVED the whales going across the floor.

I did see bits and pieces, but missed the whales everyone is talking about. Good thing there's this thing called the internet...

Sorry to hear about the Georgian luge athlete. He died doing what he loved.

I'm looking forward to the snowboard superpipe and hockey. Disney needs to incorporate that amazing floor into something somehow!

I read the break down of what happened on Fox.com. Yikes like a really quick go. Those poor team mambers just looked shell shocked last night.Couldn't fimd a video to post of the whales yet.

The commentators were talking about the artist who designed the show, and they explained that everyone was given a white poncho wrap so that as the graphics played, the entire audience area became part of the "screen" for the graphics. It was pretty awesome.

Didn't love all of the music, but the ideas, planning, implementation and graphics were awesome. Good Job Canada.

I tuned out after the Bryan Adams and Nelly Furtado performance, I also really enjoyed the whales, that was a great visual effect! The "preview" before the opening ceremony began was great. Really had me psyched to watch the athletes compete!

And I am now realizing that the preview I am talking about, probably doesn't even air in the US, it's features our Canadian athletes.

Haha thanks! I'm pretty proud of myself that I got the whole whales/bear/rocky mountain themes right hahaha. I did NOT predict fiddlers and tap dancers though... I loved that part! And the ribbons that had fish swimming up them that them turned into totem poles... and then turned into trees! So much fun!

Also, just a question for the americans... do you guys know who Terry Fox is? They had his mother as one of the last torch bearers and we have a Terry Fox day here that is a pretty big deal, but I'm thinking it's just a Canadian thing? He's definetly a Canadian hero and I'm REALLY glad they had his mom there

Yikes for a hat?! I have the official Canada mitts and hat and they were $10 each... they're sold them for cheap and as a result everyone I know has them. At the elementary school where I teach the playground is a see of red pom pom toques haha.

I'm also very mad that I can't find my canadian flag on a hockey stick... it's just the same without it
