    Question About MNSSHP...?

    Hi All!

Quick question - I have heard conflicting information about whether or not you have to pay for regular admission to the park in addition to the ticket for MNSSHP. Do you or do you not need a park's pass for that night? I know you need it for MVMCP and other events, it doesn't make sense to me that you wouldn't need it for this one.

Any insight from anyone who has been there before would be lovely!

    Re: Question About MNSSHP...?

They treat it as two separate events. You are permitted to enter the park at opening and stay until 7pm (I think), at which time they begin to usher people out along one side of Main Street as others who are entering for the party but missed the early 4pm admittance, are entering up the other side.

If you were already using a regular park ticket, then you can hop to another park. The advice I usually give to people is, unless you were forced into buying length-of-stay tickets, if you are planning on attending the Halloween party, do NOT waste money on going to a park that day because it's technically only valid until 4pm. I never really saw the point of using up a fully day ticket and then only using it for half day. Spend some time at your resort, swim, shop, whatever, but don't bother with a park on the same day. It just doesn't make sense.

Ok, so if I plan on attending MNSSHP at night, I do not need a park's pass on top of the admission ticket to the party in order to get in?

Correct. My family did the Party several years ago and we did just what
Nova stated above. We slept in, hit a water park we didn't want to give a whole day to and then went to the Party late afternoon.

Excellent! Thank you so much, the website is a little unclear about that!

Last I knew you could get into the park at 4:00 on your MNSSHP ticket but I'm not sure if that is still the case.

I believe it is. But you have to let them know at the gate so that you don't miss out on the wristband. I had such an issue with that one year!

    Mmmmmm candy

I just spoke with my mom about this...chances are we will be doing an ADR at Big River Grille at BWV (where we are staying) around 4:30/5:00 and then heading over to MNSSHP, so it should get us there just in time for the party. We are a large group of 15 people so getting reservations elsewhere at this point is proving to be a bit of a challenge.

Good luck with the Grille. I had a bad experience with that place the one and only time I tried it and won't be back. The burger was way undercooked, the smell inside was god-awful, which was fine because the back area where we were sitting had tables that remained unbussed and bugs were flying around. Disaster.

However, if you are going to eat there, I believe you can get discount coupons from Swan/Dolphin's concierge. That's how I wound up there in the first place.

    Re: Question About MNSSHP...?

I've eaten there plenty of times (we tend to stay at BWV a lot because that's our home resort) and have had good experiences everytime, that's odd. Then again, I hated the resturaunt in Germany, and yet everyone always raves about the food...I guess they are all entitled to their off days...?

I will def. look for coupons though, thanks for the tip!

    Re: Question About MNSSHP...?

You got it! If they don't have them at Boardwalk, and the discount will help with your group, it might be worth a nice walk over to Swan or Dolphin, and ask them to make a reservation for you. You don't have to use the reservation (call and cancel it, if necessary) but if you ask the concierge about dining recommendations, they should have the discount card for you.
