My DH and I did that on a minor level. We just kept moving farther and farther west. Much to my chagrin the first time we moved, his folks moved too. My sisters University was in Ohio as was her law school and just never came back.

We not really step sisters but we hang out together so much that we started referring each our as step sisters... Its to the point that our moms say that we are step daughters. Now that we are each home from vacation we will be together almost everyday.

Ya, I did two different sleep away camps in Wisconsin. I actually then worked at one as a volunteer a whole summer for my college resume. My DD did one camp in Wisconsin close to the one I attended and I actually liked hers better though the cabins were a tad questionable. My son had no desire beyone sports camp and it isn't the same.

Ahhhh....! How cool is that. My niece had an imaginary twin sister. She use to tell people her sister died and that she was buried under the wood chips under the Christmas tree. She was 4.

She is a very intelligent child, spooky smart. My sis has put her in the best schools and she wants really for nothing but drivers ed next year that my BIL balks at, but neither parent has been close to nurturing. Example, her first Christmas my Sis handed her off the Airplane in Chicago on a stop over and my sis and BIL went to Guatemala for her first Christmas without her.That's pretty dark for a 4 year old....As a result she has been very independent and in her own head often, it is spooky.
