News report say estimate for homes without power, minimum 180,000 it will be 3 days. Not good with the heat we are having still or the residents or the workers.

Yes, I do ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, yeast rolls. Breakfast is usually cinnamon rolls and bacon on Thanksgiving, late lunch.

I was driving home from Wisconsin and into IL when the storm rolled in. Don't know why you would want those type of winds.why are we not getting that here?

Oh, that doesn't sound wonderful and comfy. We got to be in sanctuary today since this is a holiday weekend, attendance was below half. lots of military families head home home for the 5 day weekend.

Without power people are not cooking. After traveling and doing all of the driving neither was I. 40 minute line/wait for food at Wendy's. DH said employee looked very, very worn.

That is a relative question.
Since we are so used to warm weather and the whole extended spring and extended summer, the days it is 34ish all day, and the night at or below freezing for us are extra cold.
Now we have some yankees, and some northern midwest transplants-who think we are a bunch of sissies for wearong coats when it is 40 degrees, but to us, that IS cold.
Just like I am okay with the 100 degree weather, but a lot of the transplants are HATING it and have no idea that a couple of fans near AC vents cool the whole place faster, of that a wet hand towel on the back of the neck is remarkably cooling. They cry about the heat, laugh at us all winter.
I just SMILE.

I had a stranger at the grocery store with two little kids asked where I lived and if they could come stay with us since they did not have power. Added, I'm not kidding.
