I feel a sore throat coming on. Ugh. Darn it.

Took me 20 minutes to drive 4 blocks on the way home from work today. I could so do without Chicago traffic for the rest of my life. Over three hours of driving time total to and from work. That really tacks a lot onto your day.

I work the early shift this Wednesday and Thursday, which I am thrilled about 'cause I will beat all the traffic. Down side is that my alarm will be going off at 4:30am, but I much prefer that than getting home so late at night like I have been.

Every time I think about, or work, on this project I think about Soarin', since the PGA West golf complex in La Quinta, CA. is where the "Palm Springs" scene in the attraction was actually shot...!

Howdydoo gang!

The last two days have been pretty awesome!
By happenstance, was off from both retail gigs yesterday. Got to sleep in a bit, and then worked on the La Quinta, CA. residence pretty much at my own pace during the afternoon/evenin'. Then, the whole famn damily finally got to go out to dinner together for the first time in quite a while.
Had my meeting with the partner this mornin' on the project and he loved what I had, so far. We made some of my suggested tweaks based on the reality of my actual to-scale iteration. Took a short break after the meeting and then went to work on those tweaks. Very happy with what I've got now. Pretty sure he will be too!

Glad to hear that you got a full day off. And yay for your project going well.

Unless you are weird like me, and then you get the flaming, painful, itchy shingles while you are still youthful. Doctor said I was one of the 2% of people that happens to.

I can tell that my internship is going to fly by. Can't believe I'm already done with week one. I focused a lot in ID-ing the animals this week- we have 6 dolphins, 4 grey seals, 4 sea lions, and 3 harbor seals, and I can officially tell them all apart and know all of their names. They're all so adorable and have their own quirky personalities. I feel like the past 5 days have really reinforced that I know that this is what I really, really want to do as a career.

So very happy for you! That is the most awesome feeling, isn't it?!

Even though it's back to the 12+ hr. day grind tomorrow, I've been a bit rejuvenated by the last coupla' days.
Now I can handle it, as always, even better...!

One of my favorite parts of the week- doing an ultrasound on one of our sea lions. We practice ultrasounds on all of them regularly just so they don't forget how to do them.

We also brush their teeth a few times a week which is fun...and funny.

The teeth brushing sounds awesomely hilarious!

Pillsbury makes an Orange Cinnamon roll. The dough has a light orange flavor and the glaze has more orange. They are a nice break and not quite as sweet. Take 16 minutes to bake in my oven.

Wow, well, DD was one of the small percentage who got chicken pox from her grandfather having shingles. They both like to sit in the same upholstered chair, apparently the shingles on his head, left enough virus for her to get the pox.
