**two of our cable systems here do not even offer PBS anymore, stating kids prefer Nick or Disney.

Washed the Pup and then spent the entire day removing all of the pavers to the front entrance of the house and reapplying some more paver base, resetting pavers and sweep'n in the sand. Tomorrow with the Grace of God I will stain them as they have faded. I actually thought I'd get to the stain today. Silly me.

Today I had that old nagging feeling...we should have concreted that walkway, aesthetics be d@med.

Our house has a walkway from the driveway to the front door, it is concrete, but with a 2 toned, layered, etched style finish that is very pretty and has been very durable. Zero maintenance and it has been done for 8 years. The previous owner had it done when he listed the house.

We don't do well with pavers and base, cause the south is warm and it ends up being a weeding nightmare for us.

My childhood eventually extended into things like nice hotels. I don't sleep outdoors, or eat outdoors. (exception Flame at AK) Animals eat outdoors, people eat indoors with utensils and napkins.

I consider Motel 6 to be camping. And I don't eat outdoors either, except once a year at the church picnic.

Family dinners must have been amazing.

Their early history is no great shakes either and most of their money came from moonshine. But they know how to get and keep power. Even if their ideas are somewhat socialist like.

Not much going on here. DD had a pile of homework last night and tonight is "Evening With The Arts" on campus. That is a mandatory attendance, graded event for her chorus class. They will be performing a variety of sitcom theme songs with dance. Sounds like a hoot.

I think today is the AK day for the inlaws, and tomorrow they come home. I asked for 2 pairs of Oswald ears. And DD asked for a purse, a Minnie Mouse that we didn't buy when we were there cause she would not commit to it. I DID keep asking for her to tell me yes, or no, and she was always undecided. Hope MIL gets it, cause she really, really likes it now that we aren't at the parks.

Chappaqua is the one where Ted drove the car off a bridge, swam away while the passenger wasnt her name Mary or something died and he never reported it??

I was not one of them, this year i'm going as Darth Vader!!

We usually make our trip reservation within 10 days of going, and we have always gone during peak times, so reservations are nearly impossible. We could not get most of what we wanted in August, even walking up. Crystal Palace, impossible, Le Cellier-impossible, CRT-uhuh, San Angel, uhuh, and a few others. So, we did mostly counter service. Which was fine.

Oh yah, you did book a little bit last min.

We were having a huge party, it was horribly hot outside, I put ice in the tub downstairs and put all the adult beverages in there. My son was in middle school and was being very curious about what beer tasted like. He was a finicky kid about food and beverages. I cracked a beer. Within 5 seconds he spit it right out, all over me. Knew I didn't have to worry about that beer drinking thing for quite a while.

Yah, I won't ever be a big beer drinker.
