It may seem hopeless, but we'll keep going!

One way to look at it is: I know there are not many members posting, but we have a good core of friends who do and as long as we remain friends and post away, not give up then I'm here for the long haul!

That is a good way to approach it. This is where my friends are, so here I stay.

Reading menus is always fun, but yes, hunger inducing.

The two nicer, possibly newer ones at DTD looked amazing when we were there. Raglan Road and Portabella's (not sure of the second one. Cooke's of Dublin-the counter service counterpart looked amazing as well, both were closed at the time of morning we were in there trying to shop.

I heard a story about Raglan Road the other day which I need to check up on:

The story I was told is Raglan Road is now run by a British couple where he used to be a train driver in the NW England for another company, not Virgin. A driver who I work with knows him... May be worth swapping details and getting intouch before we go over?!

I don't mind cabbage. Now as for sea food and mushrooms: Yuck! Yuck! Yuck!

Portabellas-entirely too much tomato all over that menu for us. Looks delish, for anyone who can eat strong cheeses, and lots tomatoes./

That might be true, not sure. The link tells the history and the chef-creator story, but it doesn't list the management team.
