Brrrr it's cold!!

3 and half hours till The Muppets!!

Sorry you have cold weather, we had nearly 70 with sun yesterday. Today looks like 65ish, sunny, cold overnight.

I burnt my hand while putting stuff in the oven. It hurts so bad still and this happened like a little more then an hour.

Ouch, do you have an aloe vera plant? we have the wide leaf alow and cut it open broad side and lay the whole chunk on the burn.

Been feeling pretty yucky...got diagnosed with shingles this morning (what happens when the chicken pox virus decides to make a second appearance on you). Coincidentally it is what I am learning about in my bio microorganisms class this week. Not fun at all..definitely painful. Thankfully doctor says its not very contagious so I can make an appearance for Thanksgiving dinner. I would've been totally bummed out otherwise. Praying I get rid of it quickly so I don't miss too much school..not good with finals coming up.

That stinks. DD got chicken pox from FIL's shingles earlier in the year. He found some all natural pain cream to be the best relief, and some form of tea from the herbalist he uses that helped coat the nerve endings. Prayers for a super speedy recovery.

Black Wedsday seems to be alive and well. College kids pack'n the pub.

The stores were jammed yesterday afternoon. Malls packed, shopping centers packed, roadways crammed and the law of stupid in full effect.

Dr. gave me Vicodin and one other med for pain, an antiviral, and patches to wear on my back to numb my nerves. Thankfully we caught it early so hopefully it won't take too long to clear up.

just laughed way hard. I got asked if I thought there was intelligent life on other planets. I said "Dude, there's not much intelligent life on this planet."

Brilliant Brian. And that is true, the law of stupid was on display all over yesterday.

I have never before seen the like of folks needing to make a left-but making it from the far right lane-or vice versa-or just ignoring traffic lights, ignoring directionals, WOWWSERS. We came home after getting groceries cause it was too risky out there.

Please take a minute today to remember our troops serving near and far, some in garrison with their families and friends, but many more far away, alone on patrols, and in harms way-IF you want to.

Many of you know I have 8 "adopted kids" in the service and only one is with his family today, the rest are in California, Iraq, Afghanistan, Tiblisi, Georgia, Okinawa, and two on ships heading I don't know where.

So I thank them all for their service and appreciate their sacrifice.

At the Used Book Store I bought the oversized book Epcot Center from 1983. So cool. $9.00. Wonder if that was more than it sold for originally?

Speaking of healthy families, a local news story made me feel very thankful and incredibly sad.

A 6 year old girl from our area got the Donor Call this week. Her new heart was put in on Tuesday (overnightish) and was working fine. She had a minor kidney issue that has now resolved. So, she will live and all appears to be amazingly good with her new heart. Sadly, her getting a heart means that someone else had to pass. So, for whatever family in Nroth Carolina made that choice in such an awful time, thank you. And may Peace be with the families of all donors today,

Black Wednesday is the return of the college students and they all meet up at their local pub to catch up with locals and friends. It is a big deal at least in Illinois.
