I've been on a cooking/baking kick lately.

Last night I made a pesto salmon, green beans & tomatoes (can't believe I forgot about this dish over the years!), and jasmine brown rice for dinner. I have never cooked fish before, so I was surprised how well it turned out! :-)

Soon, I'll be placing a roast in the crock pot and making some mashed potatoes for dinner tonight....plus a veggie of some kind. I also bought key lime juice with the hope of making my first key lime pie!

Wow! You are ambitious lately. I normally get this way during the second half of winter, food comforts.
My DH has been working some strange hours the last few months so this hasn't happened this year.

I'm missing the bulk of the story. It is racist to Chant USA, in the USA, when 2 USA high School teams are playing basketball? Having had USA swimmers and they chanted that all the time, I'm missing something from the Texas story. Is this new that USA is a racist term? I've never heard this one before.

Mario Batali, celebrity chef and Los Angeles restaurant owner, has agreed to pay $5.25 million to settle the class-action lawsuit in which he was accused of bilking servers out of part of their tips.

He is an arrogant, sneaky mean man, very mean man. SHould have been DOUBLE that.

I don't let DH near the BBQ he has managed to flambe everything he grills. Sometimes I wonder if it isn't his talent or by design.

I slow cooked many things last year but in the long run I still had to put the prep time in to get the flavors right. I still have to sere the meat, caramelize the onions, etc. So haven't used it much this year. Plus I don't know when DH will actually eat dinner at home lately.

I am ready for Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich season.

It is my intentions to haul my tushie to Navy Pier this weekend to the Flower and Garden Show. I need to see green.

Taco Bell introduced a new taco in a Dorito shell, special sleeve so the dust from the Dorito doesn't get on your fingers. Interesting marriage.

Massachusetts father of a girl on a high school hockey team aims a laser into the opposing goalies eyes and she gave up two goals.

His DD's team won. Father captured on Video. Father says he is sorry he embarrassed his DD. Goalies father is ticked that the laser Dad wasn't charged.
