Some of my students have a learned behavior of crying and pouting when they don't get what they want. One of my students is throwing a HUGE hissy fit right now because he doesn't have a snack. I offered him things and he refused. And now he's trying to cry louder because I'm not babying him.

Offer him a time out instead. I would offer two choices-"Pick a snack from the basket, OR go in time out for throwing a fit".

We did.. He stopped crying. Didn't want a snack anymore.. but he did stop crying.

Just poppin in for a minute or so to say hi and let you all know that I am ok, been lurking lately...just been busy with working and taking care of Kayla and me (trying to get over our colds) and gettinng ready for next week!!!

6 days!!!

gonna be online for a while today...catchin up with some disney news, working on a blog post, and hopefully an update to my pretrip reoport.

later this afternoon i am going to star t cleaning up kayla's room and my room and get things together to start packing! she is by her father's this afternoon til 7pm so hopefully will get a lot done.. though i dont really feel like even getting out of bed. lol

Sure, as soon as DD graduates high school in 6 years. Unless I could find a comparable private school.

Funny people. The guy just tried to push the door open, it is clearly a pull open style, he got back in his car then watched another customer come in. Amazing-some days it is a study in the not so bright.

Lots of folks buy cars, and they never, ever check to see if the car has locks on the wheels, and if the key for said lock is in the car.

Which means they never realize-until it is too late- that they have no way to remove the wheel from the car.

Also, most folks never check the price on a set of replacement tires for their vehicles-prior to buying.

With a lot of cars, that replacement cost can be a shocker. Especially if the car has 19 inch tires or staggered fit tires.


So-PSA for the day-check those wheels, and locks and tire prices prior to purchase.

Okay, off to visit sister. She asked me to bring her hair straightener, so I'm taking that as a good sign that she is feeling decent. Although I really don't know who the heck bothers to straighten their hair while in the hospital. Ah, we are SO opposites.
