That was the way it went until Father Elmer. He was with us for about 15 years, although the Associate Pastors would still come and go like the wind.
Kinda' funny...
One mornin', many years ago, after we worked the church nursery and then went to mass, we went to the PAC for donuts. I was carrying DS in and he saw Father Elmer was there and yelled... "Hey dad, look! It's Elmer Fud!"
The whole place went up! Father loved it! It was too priceless!
We had one really good one through the years. Loved by everyone.
And Poof. We then, learned later, we're the recipient of several priests with questionable, icky behaviors. One of which was going to go to jail...God took him while he laid his head down to sleep, just prior.
Some people are like Slinkies.
They aren't really good for anything,
but they still bring a smile to my face when I push them down a flight of stairs.
Friends are Gods way of apologizing to us for our families.
