"We, the jury, of the above entitled case find the defendant [Michael Jackson] not guilty..."

Michael Jackson has just been aquitted of all charges. How on earth did that just happen?

    Discuss, if you wish.

I was going to say somehting about the OJ trial, but then I realized that the comment might be considered racist, so I'm keeping it to myself.

But thanks, OJ, for opening the door to let celebrities who are tried in CA to get off the hook...

    Yeah, it isn't a racist thing...it is a status, Hollywood thing. It's a shame.

    Oh, how's this commercial idea...

[fade in to various shots of MJ as he leaves the courthouse with triumphant music in the background]
[cut to shot of MJ getting into his SUV, then stops and look at the camera]
VO: "Hey Michael Jackson - you've just been aquitted of all charges! What's next?"
MJ: "I'm going to Disneyland! Little boys galore!"
[cut to shot of Sleeping Beauty Castle with "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" playing in the background]
VO: "Now is the best time to visit Disneyland, because it's the Happiest Cel;ebration on Earth. For inoformation, contact your travel agent or visit disneyland.com."
    [fade to black]

Kinda sad, I know...but, hey, I'm giving comedy writing a shot!

I didn't follow this case too closely, and I wasn't on the jury.

From what I have seen thus far...
I think the verdict is a reflection of the credibility of the accusers the prosecution was using. Perhaps if a more credible victim had come forward to press charges, the outcome may have been different. I don't know... The defense did their job by planting reasonable doubt, the prosecution did not. I wonder how quickly MJ will be selling his Beatles Anthology to pay for his defense.

I didn't write this, but it sums up what I am thinking regarding this case:
Hasn't it dawned on anyone that MJ *chooses* young men from incredible
families? That he -- when selecting which children will become his "pen
pals" and "phone buddies" and graduate to being his Neverland guest and
bedmate -- specifically chooses children whose parents have
bankruptcies, filed frivilous lawsuits, made allegations of abuse,
exist on welfare or SSI, have mental health issues, etc. etc. etc.

The guy's good. Nice to see his wily orchestrations have been rewarded
by yet another star-struck jury. Lovely message to poor kids
everywhere: You'd better be from a privileged, respectful family if you
want to have any credence with the rest of us.

I was hoping that Michael would at least get a court order or sentence that would ban children from his home. It's too bad.

I loathe Michael Jackson, but the people who should really be on trial here are the kids PARENTS! Some man asks if my young boy can spend the night in his home and we are making tracks RIGHT NOW!

Well maybe now more parents who come in contact with MJ will think twice about leaving their child in his care unsupervised. But then again...I did see the crowds outside the courtroom after the verdict wad read...oh what a circus, oh what a show...
