Has the land been delayed? Been hearing this all morning:musa:
Everyone is waiting for official word on this one. My DS tried to get info and he said nothing official so far. The one thing that seems to keep coming up is the Imagineers and Cameron have creative differences.
I still can't believe a control freak like Cameron will eventually go through with this.
Ditto. Disney, a control freak unto itself in bed with Cameron is a recipe for disaster. Neither entity can stick to a time table or have the ability to compromise. In my head I visualize negotiations: the Coyote trying to blow up the Road Runner and self destructing.
Nor can I believe Disney would call a press conference to announce they are dumping an expansion but who knows lately.
My gut is they will announce Fantasmic Refurb and add the 1000 seats to keep the fans from cluttering up Sunset Blvd lining up for hours on end only to have the show cancel do to technical difficulties.
Well, I suppose there is precedence as far as the battle of wills is concerned. Star Tours saw the light of day and has remained wildly successful.
Then again, that was just a single attraction. And one that was strictly based in the world of the Star Wars movies.
And entire land based on Avatar is a whole other kettle of fish, IMO. Simply because we'll be talking far larger scale, likely multiple attractions, restaurants, shops...
Well tonight it is being said that addition seats will be added to Hollywood Hills Theater. Great. Is there a whoopty doo smiley face?
The only other thing I saw about Avatar this evening was much like FLE it will be much longer for the land to go on line. It has been a year and there isn't even a concept let alone breaking of ground or ordering of materials.
Or maybe not like FLE, maybe Hyperion Wharf, they are clearing things out for Avatar right now but there is the possibility that it will get cleared and left to rot like the former Pleasure Island/Wharf.
The word was that supposedly there were "creative" differences between Cameron And Disney. That doesn't sound good.
