After a long vacation with the mom and DD, I got a fb message from my best friend from high school on Saturday. Her mom is dying- basically kept it from everyone until she and her husband went to Doctor on Thursday. They left the doctor and went to make funeral arrangements- hospice arrangements made- decided to tell the kids. Parents didn't want the kids to worry but of course they did and were going to meet Saturday to talk. Well the dad said the need help and come on up. So my friend go up there and gets to see her mom literally 30 seconds before she died.

My heart is breaking for my friend right now. Busy making work arrangements to go to funeral on Wednesday. But will have to go up Tuesday because it is a 7-8 hour drive. I just need to be there for my friend - this was a second family to me. If we weren't at our house, we were at theirs. The mom was also our class sponsor and our Biology/Chemistry teacher.

Going to be a long week.

If my Mom was in that position, I could see her doing the same thing, her coping mechanism is to tell us anything at the 11.9 hour. She didn't even share my Dad's massive heart attack until hours and hours into trying to stabilize him. And even then, Hi Gabe, how ya doing, what ya been up to, how are the kids, then blurts out I've got to tell ya.....

And then there is my MIL who guilts everyone into coming to every conceivable event she conjured up, well you know this could be Dad's last _________. She did that for a good 20 years.

I eat with some friends every Friday and they are like a second set of parents. There son was shot on Tuesday and I spoke with one of them Thursday afternoon and I didn't find out until Friday evening. She says oh I have some news to tell you. Um, hellooo, how about letting somebody know something.

geepers, commercial on t.v. says my area has been selected to try a free 30 day trial of all natural colon flow. If you ask me I think they're the ones backed up. Just sayin. Aint nobody got time for that. Whatever happen to the days when cable t.v. contained programming 24/7 and only the local and national broadcasting companies went to paid programming late night.

I'm beginning to think you guys are loving planning the Honeymoon so much, you just keep a plann'in!

Its not so much that were just planning it, apparently her company is having its fall manager meeting right smack in the middle of our honeymoon, and neither of us can change it. Target needs me at the end of the month to prep for xmas, as her company needs her right after halloween through new years. AND her manager meetings are MANDATORY, the dates are locked out for vacation or time off requests.

Good news is they are having it at the Grand Californian, which is a Disney Resort in Anaheim. So we are just going to have to plan around it, or wait months to have a honeymoon. We dont want to go to the parks when its really busy, so we wont go in the spring. So were thinking this fall, or next fall. Rather this fall.

However, we also found that the packages are cheaper than the WDW resort, most likely due to its size. Plus i do want to see the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, and do some shopping on Rodeo. So were weighing the options and seeing what we can do!

He defiantly did not put sleep in the plan for my weekend. I went 47 hours without sleep. But I am so glad on how it went and all that stuff.

One night while I was on vacation, our house was over run by 6 additional teenage males. Apparently wrestling was the activity for the evening. Glad I missed it.

Anyways, what's up with Cinderella's Castle. I know during the past they selected random guests from their resort hotels and some other process and my understanding those processes/contests/etc have come and gone.

So are they doing any new selections for guests to stay in Cinderella's Castle or are the bed sheets collecting dust.

Today during the ice storm my DD and I made muffin tops, confetti cupcakes, and Ghirardelli dark chocolate brownies.

When we were done with that this afternoon I then made Paprika Chicken for dinner tonight, my Grans recipe.

I tried for years and several years into it I learned a glass of wine helped, at first. Now, I can count on one hand the amount of time Ive spent with that side of the family in the last 8 years. 2 nieces weddings, 1 nieces shower, FIL wake/funeral and we invited my MIL to my DDs HS graduation a few years back. Done.

My kids are pretty much done now too, the two cousins they like, they attended their weddings and couldn't care about the remaining three.

Yeah how 'bout it, communication skills people!
