Very interesting indeed, and not that I ascribe too, but there are these Malachy prophecies from like the 15th century. He was I think an Arch Bishop and later given Saint Hood, anyways, he predicted there would be 112 popes into the future. Pope Benedict, (Joseph Ratzinger) being the 111, now that he resigned, supposedly the next Pope will be the 112 and final Pope with the name or some connection or symbolism to the phrase "Peter the Roman".
Its also interesting to note, and this you can Google as its news, a while back ago, authorities on the Vatican were reported as saying (regarding all the scandals) That only a lightning strike could remove the Pope. Well said.

As a Catholic, I was taught to find the message in Gods actions. I get the message.

It would seem there is a message with the lightning but then I could go in all different directions with that, but yes I get the message too, his resignation is significant. God has a way of getting His message across, sometimes in the smallest of details, and then you say that was definitely God.

may I suggest that when you post messages here stay away from the lighter colors as they tend to wash into the background, making it difficult to read

Morning all! Foot still hurting pretty bad, I think I'm gonna call HR at work and see what he says. I don't really want to go the workman's comp route (bad experience last time!) but maybe I'll get lucky this time and get a doctor who knows what they are talking about.
