Harriet Tubman never lost a slave in 19 trips on the Underground Railroad. One of her secrets for not getting caught was by drugging kids with opium to keep them from crying.

Same thing to smuggle Jews out of Denmark and other countries. Not by Harried Tubman though.....

No one knows who invented the fire hydrant because its patent was burned in a fire. Love the irony.

During WW2 in Australia, there was supposed to be a dog whose hearing was so acute that it could warn air force personnel of incoming Japanese plans 20 minutes before they arrived and before they showed up on radar. "Gunner" could also differentiate the sounds of allied and enemy aircraft.

Due to the name confusion, staff of the Slovak and Slovenian embassies meet once a month to exchange wrongly addressed mail. (I didn't know these were two different places)

The CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure makes nearly $700K a year, about 25% more than other non-profits of comparable size, while only spending about 20% of its yearly funds on research for a cure for breast cancer.

40 years later, despite technological advancements in breeding, training, and drugs, Secretariat's Kentucky Derby record still stands, and he ran each quarter mile faster than the one before it, accelerating the entire race.

    Love that movie.

There is a special font specifically designed to help those with dyslexia, which "weighs down" letters to previent them from moving around.

Wonder if that would work with my son. His issue is that spaces disappear-no other movement other than lateral.
