Why does Buffalo get a bad name for snow when Syracuse and other places in NY get more?

you have got to be kidding!

Buffalo gets the lake effect, with the moisture from Lake Ontario feeding into every storm system and adding 5 to 6 feet of snow. by the time it passes Buffalo, the additional moisture has already been dumped.

I've known people in Buffalo, Syracuse, and other upstate locals, and from the stories I've heard, Buffalo's infamy regarding the snow is very well deserved.

Buffalo is not even close to lake ontario!!!!! With lake effect it effects the southtowns not the City of buffalo. Last year we only got about 52 inches of snow for the whole winter (November to March) mostly cold with wind chills

Just wanted to see what your answer was

first, my geographical retardation is not a laughing matter, i've gotten lost in my own development before. it was trauhowever, i do know you have a Great Lake right next to you. my buddy in Toronto crosses by it, or something, and hits Buffalo as he crosses the border.

and 52 inches? you realize there are locations in Vermont that would take about 3 or 4 years to accumulate that much.

again, talking to the same person who's gotten lost in his own development.

absolutely, as soon as Buffalo realizes it belongs next to Lake Ontario instead of Lake Erie!

however, they do have a better chance then the Cubs.

because of the nature of it's construction. look at a slice under the microscope and you'll find it's a fairly fiberous vegetable that wrecks havoc on many individuals gastoral intestinal system, my own included. in a nutshell, the body doesn't digest cellulose, so in some individuals the body works harder then normal (ie, increased stomach acid production) to try to digest it.
