See, that's what I thought. I think that "source" is unreliable. I may have to investigate more. I need a life.

Okay- I don't consider Wikipedia the most reliable but this is what it said:

In his unconventional history The Tribes and the States, William James Sidis claims the public library is an American invention and states that the first town library was established in Boston, Massachusetts in 1636. The Boston Public Library still operates today.[2]
The St. Phillips Church Parsonage Provincial Library, established in 1698 in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Library Company of Philadelphia was founded in 1731 by Benjamin Franklin and a group of his friends (the Junto) as a means to settle arguments. The subscription library was born. A subscription library allowed individuals to buy "shares." The money raised from the sale of shares went into buying more books. A member or shareholder then had rights to use the library. The Library Company, which may have been the first truly public library (members could actually borrow books), is still in existence as a nonprofit, independent research library

That's very interesting. First, I love me some Ben Franklin. I am shooting to receive the Ben Franklin award at some point in my career-
Also, one of my most favorite books is titled, The Most Beautiful Libraries of the World, or something like that. Oh that book is beautiful. I just sometimes like to pet it.

I love Gone with the Wind! I have the most beautiful copy of it. (imagine that)
It was my grandmother's. I took it off her bookshelf when I was maybe 12 and it has been mine ever since. I have read that book so many times the front cover has fallen off and it is taped to the spine. I wonder if I could have it restored somewhere.

I bet you could. I finally threw out the paperback copy I had. It was so pathetic and stuff had spilled on it. It was sort of gross. I need another copy.

Hahaha....from what I've gathered, everyone's interesting around these parts. I really did have fun hanging out with TNina and Melissa though. TNina shared her dilemma about her new employee with no teeth. Pretty amusing, that TNina is.
