Hey - this isn't a language question, but...
On a trip 'over there' when I was 13, we were at a Red Lion (I think) for a sandwich somewhere in Stonehenge region, and I being bored, found myself playing with the 'gambling' machine in the restaurant. I had never seen one! And so I put in a few coins - and wouldn't you know it I won something, I made all sort of whistles - and then I realized that many folk were looking at me. Then I realized I was probably under the legal age to play such things, and collecting my few coins I slithered back to the table.
Did I break the law? Do you still have legalized gambling everywhere? Should I return the few pounds I won?
....Yep - to play the gambling machines, you have to be aged over 16!!!!!!
Well, after winning that game, I was over the moon. Call me Doolally, but Bluddyell! I had just won a prize! Next time I'll read the rules, and finish my Dinna.
Don't tell anyone, OK?
