Suffolk. Its in East Anglia. Very nice and flat and hot as Hades today!! At least I can work on my tan before I go to the US!

How about YOU telling us what some of the words mean that you,s all use over there........which confuse us over here ( well ....me )
eg: First time I asked for Burger & Chips....I got a Burger & a bag of what we call "Crisps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .So what do you call chips??
When I wanted a drink.they said SODA?????...............I hate soda water (over here ).....but thats what I had to ask for lol....... for a cold fizzy drink.
When I dropped my what we call "Bumbag or Waistpack" on the coach.......as the Driver let us out he shouted out real loud "don,t go without your "Fannypack"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My handbag is ....well its my handbag lol & my purse is the tiny one you put you money in....inside your handbag.

Hey - this isn't a language question, but...

On a trip 'over there' when I was 13, we were at a Red Lion (I think) for a sandwich somewhere in Stonehenge region, and I being bored, found myself playing with the 'gambling' machine in the restaurant. I had never seen one! And so I put in a few coins - and wouldn't you know it I won something, I made all sort of whistles - and then I realized that many folk were looking at me. Then I realized I was probably under the legal age to play such things, and collecting my few coins I slithered back to the table.

Did I break the law? Do you still have legalized gambling everywhere? Should I return the few pounds I won?
