On Craig Ferguson last night the guest said he did not want to "slag up the Germans" so that is funny. Thanks Rich, hope the hands feel better. Soak them in water with Epsom salt it takes the pain out somehow.

Let me have a lok at these words what Graig left for me... I must admit, I've never heard of them all!!
strike ? - As in football to score a goal.
mank ? - something which is horrible.
toot ? - Like blowing you car horn.
sponny ? [DUNNO]
lug ? To carry something heavy around.
fawce ? Cunning, crafty, conniving.
sken ? [DUNNO]
eggwap ? [DUNNO]
meither ? It means bothering/pestering some one.
yedwarch ? Headache (?)
(and you don't need to tell us what thrutch means !) - [DUNNO]!!!

I'm guessing, Graig that these are very old Northern English words since I haven't heard of them all!!

well, a skein is a roll of yarn? Maybe that is what someone meant? It's American English but maybe its English English also.
I dunno, Gae?.... May be Graig will have the translations for us soon!
