My advice on what to see... EVERYTHING you can.

-never watched ANY of the films in World Showcase

-never visited Tom Sawyer Island or ridden the paddlewheel boat

-cried like a baby on my fave ride The Haunted Mansion the first time I rode it. I was five.

-I don't own one of those classic "Goofy" hats with the ears, but I do own a beanie, aka a propeller hat, with Mickey on top of it. (on a side note, my sister bought a pair of ears once and asked for "Annette" to be embroidered on the back. the CM replied, "Who?" we were appropriately appalled)

I've never ridden the boat either, and when i realized this last semester, I made it one of my highest priorities. Unfortunately, that was about the same time it went down for refurb and hasn't been reopened yet. So I still have yet to give it a spin.

My secrets...there are many, but I will just list the shocking ones:

Don't own a pair of Mickey Ears. Did as a kid, but no longer

Never went to the Enchanted Tiki Room.
Don't like Animal Kingdom, really, at all. I like a few rides, but otherwise find it disappointing.

Never had a turkey leg

Never been on Tower of Terror (although Jerrame tells me that will change in a week or so!)

And yes, it is true...

Just so you know the past trip was the first time I had ever gone in the Tiki Room. Just never went in until this last trip. So if you want to go I'll go with you.


There is one place in the MK I have never been and that Tom Sawyers Island oh yeah never rode the astro obiters either line seem way to long to get on them.

According to the Magic Kingdom webpage as of like 45 seconds ago... it gave a reopening date of Feb 28th. You should be fine if you're going in may.

Well, I've been going nearly every year since 1992 and have never made it through the arch towards The Little Mermaid show in MGM, even though The Little Mermaid is my favourite Disney film!!

to update, for anyone who cares:

-have now enjoyed Dole Whip and felt it was a bit overrated, to be honest (no offense meant to its many fans)

-have now thoroughly explored Tom Sawyer Island

-have now watched every film in World Showcase

my wife won't let me buy one of those Goofy hats b/c she says, "That's the Dad hat! you can't have one unless you're a dad!"

I'll level with ya, T--I'm genuinely a little annoyed when I see kids under eight years of age ride for the first time and seem totally unaffected by the experience.

The Dole whip can be found at the Aloha Isle in Adventureland (actually, it's almost within throwing distance of where you probably get your Citrus Swirl (Sunshine Tree Terrace, if I'm not mistaken?). It's essentially the same thing, but with pineapple instead of orange juice.

BUT HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE THE JUNGLE CRUISE?!?!?!?! YOU'RE CRAZY!!!!!
Ok, ok... I'm just kidding. To each their own preferences of course.

I stole my daughter's princess crown last year so I could wear it. I convinced her that it made her head hurt. Does that make me a bad mom?

Oh, fine. It wasn't like I didn't give her some Mickey ears to wear!
I'll make sure both of us have a crown in December.
