Things I have learned living in ARKANSAS1. Possums sleep in the middle of the road with their feet in the air.2. There are 5,000 types of snakes and 4,998 live in ARKANSAS.3. We have four seasons: Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer and Christmas.4. A carbonated soft drink is not a soda, cola or pop...It's a 'coke' regardless of brand or flavor. Ex...What kind of 'Coke' do you want?5. People actually grow and EAT okra!!6. Sweet Iced Tea is appropriate for all meals.7. You have to switch from 'heat' to A/C in the same day.8. All the festivals across the state are named for an animal, insect, grain, vegetable or fruit.9. You work until you are done or it's too dark to see.10. Everyone can't be an Arkansan: You have to be BRAVE to live here!

For my old mom and me.
6 Heinz dill pickle chips
Half a roma tomato cut into strips then those halved
Cucumber wheels and i get left overs as I cut crooked usually.
5 black pitted olives
Frozen veggies were green and yellow squash wheels, broccoli and a little corn mix for mom, a piece of red pepper and corn for me. I nuked those and added a little real butter with salt.
I boiled three small russet potatos with a little salt and pepper. Drained that then smashed with a little canned milk, more salt and pepper, real salted butter, and lots of dried parsley flakes.
I cut the meat of the New York steak off of the bone and cooked that and the bone to well-done for her and medium for me. I used a pepper, salt, onion salt, garlic powder and parsley blend on each side. A hint of sage powder and rubbed in some Gulden's brown mustard on one side. Also in pan added a little Grey Poupon and chopped garlic from a jar. This was cooked with chopped brown onion.
Fresh brewed iced tea with imported brown sugar for me and she uses sweet and low.
whatever my parents decide to cook for me while i use their pool...
i love visiting the rents...
No dinner for us here - We went out for lunch, after bowling, and I am still full!!
