Once upon a time, I thought Aerosmith was singing "Lovin' an Alligator."
I used to wonder why MC Hammer kept saying "King Tut Says," yet never telling us what King Tut said (moot point, I guess--neither Hammer nor King Tut say much, anymore).
Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who says that I am the one
But the chair is not my size.......

Okay- there were made up for a Freshman thing at college
Thriller
"It's close to Midnight.
We roaches lurk in corners of the dorm.
You yell and scream
but still no one comes to help you out
It is a Thriller, Thriller night
your grades have just come in
and your parents cut you off..."
Don't remember the rest...

I just remembered this one as I was posting it to the Love Songs thread...The Lovecats by The Cure.
The actual lyrics are
We’re so wonderfully wonderfully wonderfully
Wonderfully pretty
I thought it was:
We're so one flea, one flea, one flea,
One flea pretty

The Police - So Lonely
When they get to the chorus, and really kick it in, I thought for sure they were singing
"Salami, Salami, Salami"
or even
"Salome, Salome, Salome"
Silly me...
I do not suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it - Edgar Allan Poe

The day before last, the radio station in the truck was playing a block of Elton John, and one of these days, I'm really going to have to figure out what the old boy is really singing:
Rocket Man; burnin' up the trees on every lawn...........
And the other was from "Tiny Dancer"--
Hold my clothes and tie me down, sir............

Led Zepplin's "Stairway To Heaven" has a line to the effect of--
And as we wind on down the road, our shadows taller than our souls
For the longest time, I was hearing--
And there's a wino down the road, I should have stolen Oreos........

To go along with tiny dancer, my sister asked me as were driving to school this year why elton john was singing about tony danza. It does kinda make sence, but not in terms of the song...completely.
"L'amour brille sous les étoiles Illuminant leur cœur Sa lumière Eclaire à l'infini Un sublime espoir" -so i dont really speak french but would love to would u amour to?
3 times w/i the celebration I'm a millionaire who got to the hot seat

Aaah; mom and her Simon and Garfunkle 8-tracks that she used to have........
"Mrs. Robinson"
Put it in your pants, you're with your cupcakes, versus the correct lyric Put it in your pantry with your cupcakes.
Another one the little ears thought they were hearing from the dynamic duo:
I am a rock, I am an onion...........
And my favorite S&G tune, "The Boxer." In place of um......members of the world's oldest profession (or second oldest, if you count "being God" as #1), I always heard--
Just a come-on from the horse on Seventh Avenue..........

In world of beach-blanket bops, I always enjoy the B-52's "Rock Lobster".
There's a little line in there that goes "pass the tanning butter" that my mind translated into "past satanic butter".
It's an odd song, but even more so with that jumble in there...

Bon Jovi's "Bed of Roses."
I wanna be just as close as the Holy Ghost is.
If I let myself, I can still hear:
I wanna be just as close as the Holy Clothespins.........

Patsy Cline's Crazy
"I'm lazy, lazy when doing the housework."

Def Leppard's classic angst anthem, "Love Bites":
Love BITES! Love BLEEDS! (It's bringin' me to my knees)
Love LIVES! Love DIES!
I still hear--
The PRICE! Of PEAS! (It's bringin' me to my knees)
The PEAS! The PRICE!
Those must be some seriously good peas.......
