When I try to sing it in my head, all I hear is a drunken slurred version with a visual of the scene from Animal House.

    "Lou-ai, Lou-ai,
Ohhwoah I said I need ya so
    AYE AYE AYE yeah yeah"

    I'm probably SOOOO wrong here!

Funny thing about that is---it makes just as much sense as the original song! They might be correct. lol Anybody say "Toga?"

I tried to look them up and apparently they are copywrited or something so there is no actual real lyrics listed anywhere. I did find some that said they were interpretations, but they had some really bad words in them, and I'm thinking, well that can't be right. Maybe someone else will have more luck.

Here is what I found. Don't know if it is correct:

    The Kingsmen (1955)

    Louie Louie Lyrics

    CHORUS:

    Louie Louie, oh no
    Me gotta go
    Aye-yi-yi-yi, I said
    Louie Louie, oh baby
    Me gotta go

Fine little girl waits for me
Catch a ship across the sea
Sail that ship about, all alone
Never know if I make it home

    CHORUS

Three nights and days I sail the sea
    Think of girl, constantly
On that ship, I dream she's there
I smell the rose in her hair.

    CHORUS

Okay, let's give it to 'em, right now!

    GUITAR SOLO

    See Jamaica, the moon above
It won't be long, me see me love
Take her in my arms again
Tell her I'll never leave again

    CHORUS

Let's take it on outa here now
    Let's go!!

Not too big on the whole "toga" thing, although whenever I can get away with it, I do proudly wear a pledge pin on the uniform......

Now, for another '70s flashback, "You're the One That I Want," from Grease.

    Danny was actually singing:

    I've got chills, they're multiplyin'.

    I used to hear:

I've got shoes, they're made of plywood.

A little more recent, there's always my favorite 10,000 Maniacs tune, "Because the Night."

Come on down, try and understand, the way I feel under your command

    versus what I believed:

The way I feel about the OrkinMan(tm).......

Ah, well. By the same token, she's also singing:

Because the night belongs to lovers

    rather than:

    Pickles tonight belong to llamas

Although I should have realized the Stones weren't exactly art afficianados, for some reason, I thought that they were singing, "I see a Renoir, and I want to paint it black."

You can't really blame anyone for misunderstanding anything contained in an AC/DC song (Bonn Scott wasn't exactly the most coherent crooner, and Brian Johnson sounds as though he drinks gravel milkshakes), so here's a couple from "You Shook Me All Night Long" that eluded me for the longest time:

She was a fast machine, kept her motor clean

    aaaaaand I heard--

    She wants a FAX machine

    Just a couple lines later:

She had the sightless eyes, tellin' me no lies

    whereas I got--

She had me circumsized, taco minnow fly..........

You're definitely right about the singers in AC/DC.

Another person not exactly known for being easy to understand, Ms. Stevie Nicks.

"Edge of Seventeen" is a great song, even if you're not a big Fleetwood Mac fan.

I just couldn't get the image out of my head, when she sang, "...just like the one-winged dog, sings a song, sounds like she's singin'...."
