Okay, here is one of some of the phrases that doesn't translate directly to spanish correctly.

Spanish: Ir a donde el rey va solo.

What it is supposed to mean: To powder one's nose.

Literal: To go where the king goes alone.

Not entirely true. Many Spanish nouns also take o or a for masculine versus feminine.

(You can't fool me that easily. I took Spanish 1 for like, five years.)

Don't take that one too hard, mate--with the possible exception of the African "click" languages, English is the most difficult tongue to learn in the world. Frankly, I admire anyone who wasn't born into an English speaking neighborhood who has even a basic working grasp of it.

(If you're curious, the think-tanks at Berlitz, probably the name in language studies, consider Spanish to be the easiest language out there to pick up.)

okay, well I'm sorry, i should have said "most adjectives end in o,a,os,as, however some nouns do also. Additionally some adjectives end in e or es."

That's all I can remember this morning! Actually, that's pretty much all you need to know if travelling to a spanish speaking country on vacation.
