I used to live in Wisconsin and then i moved to FL, so I've experienced both snow and hurricane days and I have to say, when you live in Celebration, hurricane days are a million times better than snow days

Hmmm....I've never had a Snow Day where I lost power for days on end. I cannot say that about Hurricane Days. Given the choice, I'd rather have several feet of snow whilst sitting home in my PJs with electricity than extreme wind/rain, no power, trees falling, and flooding imminent.![]()
Do other parts of the country get earthquake or tornado days? I guess you wouldn't get much notice, so it'd be an after the fact type of thing...

See I'm referring to living in Celebration with the hurricane days. During the last really bad ones a couple years ago, we discovered that the Disney generators were hooked up to us, so we can never lose power since we share a power station with them. Then all phone lines are underground along with power lines, so we didn't lose anything.
It's one of the MANY MANY perks of living here I discovered.
As for a snow day, you can lose power. We lost our heat in one once because it was too cold outside or something and the furnace just decided to stop. That was fun. lol. Also when most of our snow days have wind chills so it feels like its "-40" or something, it is REALLY cold.

It was going to snow here but it didn't!!!!
Got Disney?
I love when the power is lost for about a half hour or something short where the temp wont change too much in the house or in the fridge. Its sort of fun. We get the problem every winter where its so cold that they cycle the heat so that it can never really get that warm, but then blankets are really nice.
