I tried to check on voices, but could not get a connection.

It has nothing to do with their voices. Look for the commonalities in their movies as made by Disney.

All were in movies based on books?
...by British authors? Two are Scottish, one is English...

Although that is true, there is something even more specific between these 3 characters' movies that Disney did.
Another hint: I'm not talking about just 3 movies.

You are on the right track Ana, what was different about each adaption of each story that Disney did?

Let's see: Treasure Island was done as real life, muppets and animation; Dalmatians was done as animation and real; was Mr. Toad done in real life?![]()

Yes, Mr. Toad was done in real life. Each story was done in live action and animation by Disney. I wasn't counting Muppet Treasure Island since the other two haven't been made by the Muppets.
