"Hangman / Wheel of Fortune" Helper

I've created a JavaScript based helper application to assist players whom may be hosting the "Hangman / Wheel of Fortune" game thread(s).

Vana (named in honor of Ms. Wheel of Fortune, herself), takes a phrase supplied by the game host and uses options on the page to generate the final puzzle text. The final puzzle text is in a format similar to what is already being used, but can be easily changed to your own style if needed. Vana was not designed to help anyone cheat or win the games, so don't even bother asking me if it's possible. :-P

For now, Vana is currently hosted on another site and is accessible via the following URL: http://pinefrog.com/DWT/vana.htm

Hopefully a copy will be hosted on DWT soon, and you won't need to rely upon any external links. Another thing that you may like to know - Vana doesn't submit any information to it's host server to create the puzzle text, so feel free to save a copy to your computer for easier/faster access if you'd like.

If anyone has problems getting the "Generate Puzzle" button to work, you'll need to enable JavaScript on your browser. ...If the button works, then you have no problem!

Vana will also save a copy of the current puzzle in a browser cookie for later access. If you have cookies disabled, then you will simply need to re-enter the original phrase back into the Source Text box, and select the appropriate options on your next visit. ...If you see your previous puzzle on a return visit, then you have no problem!

I would like to recommend this. I have used it in my last two puzzles and it worked like a charm. No more "missing" letters or spaces.

I've been beta testing Vana for over 2 months now, and I'd also like to add my recommendation for using this utility. :thumbs:

I'm a frequent player in the Hangman threads for several years, and this has made hosting these games so much easier, less of a chore, and more fun.

It is my hope that this will get more people into playing these two games on DWT.
