Just Desserts
Walt's sweet tooth inspires four deliciously Disney desserts
by Lisa Stiepock
Walt Disney's ideas and ambitions tended toward pie-in-the-sky, but his tastes were apple-pie basic. When it came time for dessert--a nightly ritual at the Disney dinner table--Walt went for red Jell-O, bread pudding, apple brown betty, gingerbread, or lemon meringue pie.
Also, "and this one is weird," says Disney's Contemporary Resort pastry chef Mary Schaefer, "a cookie made from chow mein noodles and melted butterscotch chips."
and
"As a celebration of Walt, I wanted it to feel like it was going on everywhere," says LaDuke. "I also wanted it to be real. There's a lot of push to be authentic when you have Walt's name involved; you can't, say, name something 'Walt's Cheesecake' and then find out the guy was allergic to dairy!" Schaefer, for one, did her homework: "I got ahold of Lucille Martin, Walt's secretary. As it turns out, she's still with the company in California. Lucille told me that Walt's favorite dessert was lemon meringue pie, so that started everything off. And she said the family had a cook and that they had dessert every night." Schaefer began creating lemon pie, tart, and torte recipes for the celebration.
Then, one night in May, Schaefer's phone rang. "It was Diane Miller [Walt's daughter]! Lucille had told her what we were doing. We talked for an hour, and she was just so gracious." Miller confirmed Walt's simple palate, noting his preference for red Jell-O and bread pudding, and saying the best word to describe what he liked was "home-style." She also confirmed how much he loved pie, adding "anything apple" to the list. Schaefer spread the word.
While the things you posted may be true, I am basing my answers on someone who knew him personally.
Hint: Walt's term "weenie" is derived from his favorite food

Yes Walt liked chili, from what I heard from the gentleman I am basing my questions on, is that Walt really liked his chili HOT!
Back to the last question: It is a very simple cookie, nothing fancy.
