Ha - I'm a minimalist. I used to carry it all, and I shifted to the side when I sat down.
Then I made the earth-shattering discovery that simpler is better.

My wallet? A WalMart slim no frills no secret pockets wallet.

Single $20 bill just for emergency - I so rarely use cash anymore
    2 credit cards - 1 business, 1 personal
    Health insurance card
    Small grocery store discount card
Small piece of paper with micro-fine print of all important relative's contact info
    Driver's licence
    AAA card

No pictures, no souveniers, no hidden Mickeys, no extra keys or coins,...

Pretty spare, I keep it light and clean it out once in a while. Aside from the usual odds and ends, there's the Princess Jasmine "Follow Your Heart" card I've been carrying for the past eleven years; with the sweet little motivational message on the flipside, and the autograph and lipstick of Jas herself (I'm amazed it's held up for so long).

I keep a small fistful of photographs in there as well; pictures of people who mean something to me, one of Colonel Rick Rescorla (personal hero), and of others who count on me--always nice to have something to keep handy when you're reaching for a reason to keep going somedays.

Tucked away in the back compartment, I try to always keep a pewter "Guardian Angel" coin stashed. As a boy who's own mother always told him he could never seem to mind his own business, once in a while, it seems to be John Wayne-time. Every so often when all is said and done, there's the question of how they can ever say thanks. I'll pass along the coin to them, and tell them if they really want to do something for me, they'll keep it with them, and the next time they see someone who needs a hand to help them in any way they can, then pass the thing along and tell them the same thing. I genuinely forget where I got the idea or from whom, but it sure struck a chord. Corny, yes. Hopelessly romantic, oh yeah. But it's always nice to imagine that somewhere out there, someone might be doing some inspired good in this world.

I just want to throw this out there...

I noticed several of you are carrying your Social Security Cards in your wallet. I don't do this anymore because of the rampant ID theft problems nowadays. I keep it in a safe place and only take it out to use when I need to...which isn't that often. I've also removed anything that contains my SSN. Fortunately, many things are moving away from using your SSN as a means of IDing you. Your SSN is a key to stealing your identity, protect it. So if you lose and/or your wallet gets stolen, not only do they have your government issued photo ID with your full name and address...but also your SSN.

Spencers still exist? Lucky you, we used to have one at the local mall but many good stores including them had to move out cause of high rent. The closest is a 3 1/2 hour drive & my family doesn't have a car
