ok is it like you have to find the letter with a group of dots by it, then make a word starting with that letter, and the designs on the plates have to match?

...Ummm, something like that. Probably the most important detail is that the designs have to match - that helps to eliminate a lot of possible combinations...

But what positions, and what words...

The site where the puzzle is located -MAY- be closing in the near future (see post #1).

I'll post the answer here in a few days... Any more clues wanted? Or have we completely drained the life out of this one??

Okay, you can forget that for now. I'm much too tired to think that hard.

I just checked and the puzzle is currently accessible, so I'll delay on giving you the answer if more want to keep working on it.

(FYI - The puzzle [post #1] is on a web site that was following Volvo/Disney's POTC The Hunt - and was down today due to the tremendous amount of internet activity on this, the day of the final puzzle to choose a finalist... Unfortunately, I doubt it was me )

Hard to give too many clues - the sample above is to help get started. The 6 words come from arrangement of the plates ("7 to 6" should give insight as to how they are arranged), and "6 into 1", well - parts of the 6 are used to make 1.

The answer is an extremely unique word << BIG clue here...
