A Tough Puzzle to Ponder

There's a little more to it than just making a pretty design! Although that where I started too. The hard part is trying to figure out what to do with those darn dinner plates - given to me personally by Mr. J. Sparrow. (that is NOT a clue!)

this puzzle is part of a contest to win a Volvo. It also has something to do with Pirates

That Volvo contest was not very fun...I got to the point were you had to go to the dealer to get a map and gave up.

Actually, it is/was just a side puzzle posted at one of The Hunt fan sites - just by one of the administrators to help pass the time between the real puzzles. I happened to solve it first (patting self on back) - but sadly, no free car or dubloons.

My eyes hurt when I read this! I thoroughly enjoy these types of logic adventures, and was quick to buy and get through the Myst series and other similar adventures. I helped write some simple early adventure games on the Apple back in the early 80's, and live to be challenged. The Hunt map? You didn't have to go to a Volvo dealer - could have simply requested it be sent to you (every map has unique serial number)... although too late now as the game is in the final week. With my schedule I doubt I'll be able to compete for the finale (only 1 finalist from US will be selected based on pure cleverness and speed of solving the final internet puzzle). It's been fun, though.
