Something's Relative Game
I've been thinking how is it when we're in a conversation for long periods of time, your conversation drifts from subject to subject fluently, but when you think about it, since when does "How's the weather doing?" tie into "I like rice" or whatever? In this game, you will post a word or phrase that is related to the above word or phrase. We'll see how the game progresses as the next posts stray farther and farther away from the original post but yet, somehow related through a long chain of words of phrases. Have fun!
I'll start off the game with:
Jungle

Long time ago now, there was a pretty good sketch comedy show called "The State" on the air--I think MTV carried it, but canked it (a shame, since this would've marked the first worthwhile thing on the channel since 1988, but I digress). At any rate, I now hear "jungle" and I remember a mock interview with a scientist who was researching primates, but found the term "research" restrictive. He believed he had opened up a whole new area he called "monkey torture." Nothing like the rack or bamboo shoots--it was all psychological. For example, one of his favorites was to drive his test subjects right up to the edge of the jungle as though he was going to set them free, then he'd turn the car right back around and go back to the lab, to which both he and the interviewer found greatly amusing.

Is there a second word in there, I'm confused
-
Eh, longer than a "phrase," I guess, but figured if it was just a word, then the game is nothing more than word association, which didn't seem like the stated agenda of the game. Sure hope I didn't kill the flow dead in the water by the third reply......
-
Yeah, it's basically word association. I wasn't sure if there was already a game like this. I did check the games forum and didn't see anything similar so I decided to make one. I appoligize if it wasn't as clear, or too confusing because I added "or phrase" to it. Would you like to try to start it off this time?

Okay, so word association it is. "Something's Relative," take two.
The word is 'jungle,' so I immediately think:
Boots

-
Track (which by the way am I on the right track?)

I find it amusing that after we get the game started, the rest of the words are bolded just like the first one. Monkey see, monkey do law really does exist! You may resume gameplay, already in progress.
