Regarding paper clips--Love 'em, especially the "heavy duty" kind that you can unfold and marry with a rubber band to produce a mini-compound bow.
Regular ones can be a hoot, too. I used to live for turning in essays and other multiple page assignments to my favorite teachers with only the top two sheets clipped in the traditional manner, and the rest done in such a way that when s/he'd pick up the stack by the top left corner, the whole mess would lose the battle with gravity and accordian itself to the floor in a spiral.
(If it weren't for this trick, girls and drama club, I think I'd have dropped out.)
