am trying to recall the name of this lost MGM attraction....

I remember doing this attraction at least twice as a little kid. Its were two CMs would stand in front of a stage in a building, and pick out audience members to be in the show. I would push up to the front because I loved it so much. Once I played the rich lady from Gilligans Island, another time a baseball star.

    Can anyone remember this attraction??

Please don't tell me it was all a dream....

Sounds like you are remembering "SuperStar Television" at Disney-MGM Studios. Audience members were selected to 'star' in episodes of popular shows, and the 'actors' would be mixed into video footage with the real tv stars. They also had the I Love Lucy episode with the chocolate factory as one of the skits.

There is a little more to read about it here: http://waltdatedworld.bravepages.com/id68.htm

Doug Live! is no longer there, either. The theater is currently only used for special events. Last summer it was used for some of the Playhouse Disney concerts - got to see the Doodlebops there.

that stinks....it fit in so perfectly in MGM too, it allowed the Guest be apart of the show...

I think it was this attraction that got me into acting..
