OK, New poster here, ... this is a really stupid question I'm sure, but can someone post a picture/point me to one of the building that formerly housed the WDW Skyway? I know it was in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland, and I hear the TL one is still there and empty. Which one is it? I've made quite a few trips to Disney since 1999, but never really paid attention, and on my most recent trip [last month] I looked but couldn't really find it. I was only 11 when it closed and remember seeing it but never paid much attention to it. What happened to the Fantasyland building that housed the Skyway?
:welcome2: to the boards, GCD01
The Fantasyland skyway building is a swiss chalet type building, basically next to It's a Small World and across the walk from the bathrooms by Peter Pan's Flight. It's up on a hill, and the area below it is used for stroller parking for Fantasyland. If you're walking from Fantasyland towards Liberty Square, look up the hill on your right just before getting to the archway. It's still there, and still empty.
The Tomorrowland skyway building is between Carousel of Progress and Space Mountain. It's a large, nondescript blocky building with rest rooms on the ground floor. If you look at the end of the building closer to Space Mountain, you'll see a waterfall and on the second level the old loading area.
I found these photos by npyskater in the photo gallery: http://www.disneyworldtrivia.com/for...=14601&cat=508 showing the end of the Tomorrowland building, and http://www.disneyworldtrivia.com/for...=14606&cat=505 and http://www.disneyworldtrivia.com/for...hp?photo=14588 showing the Fantasyland building (thank you, npyskater!).
Thanks disneydame! That's exactly what I was looking for!
