I'm not a Mr.Know-It-All,especially when it comes to Disney stuff, even though I wish I were. But I heard about the so-called "sinkhole" too.Now come on! With the Florida ground the way it is, that area of land that Horizons sat on had to have been dug out and filled in solid,as to support a building, and if that being the case,I can't see how a sinkhole could have developed under it.
But then, they go and tear down an attraction that everybody loved,to re-build a building with a ride so intense that a lot of people came off of it and became sick, dizzy and naucious.I know, because I was one of them.
Their philosophy about this is beyond me.Uncle Walt would have been proud and would have loved Horizons, had he been alive to ride it himself. That ride was created way back, with the older generation of imagineers, that understood Uncle Walt's ideas for Epcot Center(where is the Center these days)?
But to lie to the public,or at least concoct a story about a sinkhole, just to do away with something everyone loved and build something that a vast amount of visitors cannot ride, just does not make any sense at all to me.At least with Horizons, even the oldest senior citizen to walk through the gates of Epcot could have rode it,and not come off of it sick to their stomach, like a lot do,coming off of Mission Space.
Come on you so-called "imagineers",can't yall do any better than that?

Horizons would probably be it for me, too.
I have to say, as far as thrill rides go, I REALLY do like the full-blown version of MS too, though! I'm 47 and have riden it as many as 3 times in a row without a single problem other than a massive adrenaline rush...!
But just think what they could have done by now with the plussing of an ongoing Horizons...

River Country was WDW's first and original water park, but upkeep costs and new health regulations forced it to be shut down :-(
