Just to let you all know Disney HAS spent some monely upkeeping this ride lately.

Disney has redone some of the seats and the carpet for the seating area. Also they have patched some of the walls between the theatres that spin! Also there was a hole in one of the screens on the stage in the first scene that they patched over rather badly, but they have entirely replaced the patch!

So they HAVE spent some money lately as little money as it is.

Yes they might get rid of it someday just because it has been there for awhile, but I think it will be safe because Disneyland got rid of theres so I am hoping that it will be safe for awhile!

I love the Carousel of Progress. I doubt they would ever take it away. It was Walt's favorite.
Plus, I love the song! I've never been around it when it has been broken down tho...

I totally agree with all of you. This is a great ride and a nice way to relax for a while and unwind from the stress of waiting in line for other attractions. Hopefully, it will be there when I take my kids (haven't got 'em yet, but hope to soon, LOL). In the meantime, whenever we go to WDW, we ride it more than once. That song is addictive. "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day, . . . . . "

It was still there, I went on it. But, it wasn't on the park map. Maybe the map was wrong or I misread it.

I am looking at a map of the Magic Kingdom at WDW from our trip there July 10th - 17th as I am typing this and The Carousel of Progress is definitely on there as # 43 in Tomorrowland! We also saw it twice while we were there. And yes, I have read several times that it is an attraction that Walt NEVER wanted discontinued because it was so very dear to him! So fear not " Dizfans " of all ages!!! Sorry, just bein' silly !!!

It isnt listed on some maps I've noticed. Maybe because it is a seasonal attraction and they dont update the maps that often? I have guidemaps that have it listed and ones that dont, and it has been open every single time I've been there.

No, it's not a " seasonal " attraction! It's open year-round! Some of the " overall " maps don't show it but I've got a MK map that shows it as # 43! when we were there in July it was opened as Walt had intended it to be!!! As per Walt's wishes it was never to be discontinued !!!!!
