I remember being in high-school during the demise of Mr. Toad. I still have a Save Toad t-shirt, and I remember fondly our monthly protests on Sundays to keep the ride open. Even though it was in vain, it was fun to meet other Disney fans during the formative years of the online Disney community.

I would sign that, for every member of my family. I do not care for the Pooh debacle in Toad's place.

Though I don't think it will do any good, you can add my name plus the other three members of my household to the list.

We were part of the Save Toad petition/protest which was unsuccessful. I remember at the time how ridiculous it was for Disney to close Toad right before the video release of "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad". If they wanted to put Pooh in Fantasyland, they should have put it where Snow White's Lame Adventures is and left Toad alone!

    Ahhh...the Toad. He is missed.

When I was in high school, studying for my driver's license, whenever my mother had to ride with me, she would describe the experience as Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Actually, she still does.

While I have fond memories of Mr. Toad from 1977 when I thought I was going to hit a train, the ride itself would never be as popular as Winnie-the-Pooh. I didn't learn who Mr. Toad was until the mid 80s and to this day I have never seen Ichabod and Mr. Toad.

There have been many attempts to bring back Mr. Toad and while they might be a feel good idea for those to attempt to start it or those who sign it, it will never get Disney to bring it back.

To be honest, it is a good move for Disney NOT to bring it back. They remove Country Bears in Disneyland to put in Pooh.

What this does it for people who want to see Country Bears, need to go to WDW and those who want to see Mr. Toad, need to go to DL. It is a good ploy to get those so inclined to go to both parks.

To be honest, while I loved Mr. Toad, I think Pooh is technologically superior in every way and a ride I enjoy riding each time we go to Disney. While I am a fan of Mr. Toad, I would never make the trip to DL just to ride that.

I have to admit that I never really thought much of Mr. Toad until it was gone. As a kid I never had any idea who Mr. Toad even was. That being said, I have since seen the movie The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad and I thought it was really good. Maybe if Disney had done a better job of promoting this film in the 70's & 80's the ride would still be there. I know it's a 1949 movie but even if the Disney Channel had just run it once a year its popularity would have been more than it is now. Somehow this film got lost in the shuffle and I think the demise of the ride can be attributed it being based on what most would term an obscure movie. The Pooh ride is good for todlers but I think most older kids if given the choice would prefer toad.oh yeah...petition...sign me up too, for what it's worth

Hmmm... I've heard several people who are very passionate about that ride. I can barely remember it, but I seem to recall little cars that veered around a lot and seemed like they were going to hit walls...

Can someone educate me... what was it about this ride that appeals to so many people? Was it the ride experience or the character that you miss?

I agree completely. Mr.Toad was my favorite scenic ride. I literally remember getting pictures next to his statue in disneyland. Now that he has been released from disneyworld, i was extremely sad on my last trip there. =.=' BRING BACK MR.TOAD!
