| Horizons--A Little Background Info Please! My first trip to Disney was in July/August 1996. I was only 2 years old, though, and don't remember a thing. Could you guys tell me a few things about Horizons? I hear people on these forums talk about how much they miss it, and I'd just like to know what it was! Perhaps this could even be a great segment for the show, for the WayBack Machine? Let me know, Lou, I'd be really thrilled if you decided to go back and tell us all more about this attraction! Where was it located? what the general theme? What happened? Audio-animatronics? These types of things. Include as much detail and information you'd like (I love the nitty-gritty details!)! Thank you so much!

| You can see portions of the ride by going to Youtube. I'd just type in something like "Horions Epcot" or "Horizons Disney", there's also a few tribute sites to the ride online that could probably be found pretty easily by going to Google. The ride was located in Epcot and was in the location of the current Mission: SPACE. It was themed around the future and what it would be like to live there. It focused on primarily on the future of the desert, undear sea and in outer space. As with most Disney attractions the ride did feature audio-animatronics. It was also unique in that it was the only ride in its day where you could choose your own ending. I could go on and on, but I don't want to wright a novel, a look at some of the tribute websites or watching the ride on YouTube will give you some more info. ![]()

| The best thing about it was the smell of oranges as you passed the orange groves. That and the fact that you got to choose your own ending. It was a great ride, such a shame they got rid of it. |

| Instead of answering all of your questions, I have a suggestion. Go the the Extinct Attractions website and look at the DVD's they have for sale. The one for Horizons is excellent and includes a complete ride through of the attractions. Welcome to Extinct Attractions. The number one site for theme park history. I have ordered from them in the past, they are reliable and their DVD's are high quality.
