Good Bye, PI!

Well, the plug was finally pulled on PI last night. Goodbye, old friend!

Much as I'm a little sad to see it go, I am really looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the area. There are so many rumors and to see which were right and which were not will be fun.

I'm really going to miss the Adventurer's Club. I would go to Jellyrolls more often (since I stay at the BoardWalk so much) if they were smoke free.

Maybe something great will be put there. It would be nice to see a discontinued items shop, Dine with the Cruella and Friends, and maybe some more charcter buffets to make that portion of the Disney expereince more accessible.

They already have a discontinued shop, it's at property control, and you can shop there if you have a CM friend to shop with you.

So saaaaad. I used to absolutely LOVE going to PI. Oh man, the adventurers club, fun times. I will miss it lots, as will many others.

My wife and I went to PI a few times back in the early 90's.Back then,I was in my 30's,I am a drummer/keyboard player and hearing a lot of the "good music" from 70's(DISCO-"yeah baby",I was there),some of the rock from the 70's and 80's,and the dance music from the 80's was great.I liked the comedy club,and The Cage(there's a rage in the cage)Does anyone remember that? I also liked the rock club that entranced up some stairs,(don't remember the name).However,I did go in the Adven Club,(and I am a looney rock n roller),but I wasn't very impressed with that club.Why? I really don't know;like I said,I am wacky and a child of the 70's and 80's and a musician,but it just didn't appeal to me.So Yall please don't hate me!!!!!!!!!
But now,for us,things have changed and we go down to Disney with our two girls,and we never went to PI with our girls.We did walk through it during the day,when the clubs were closed,just to get to DD.Westside.
Life for us has changed and I am looking forward to seeing what Disney has planned for the old PI grounds.

R.I.P. Pleasure Island

I was just old enough last year to get into the Comedy Warehouse and Adventurer's Club and went every time I was there. Shame they closed it. Me and my dad actually got me a wristband and went club hopping to see everything before it got gutted. Wish I was there the last night, especially Adventurer's Club.

The odd part? They're replacing it all with shops and restaurants. There's already shops and restaurants on both sides, Marketplace and West Side. Where else is there an Adventurer's Club? But hopefully what goes in will be interesting to see.

It better not be like Stitch replacing Alien Encounter.
