Well, if you're crazy then I must be too, because I remember the exact same thing!
My family and I always debate this-
Does anyone else remember on Kilimanjaro Safaris- when it first opened- the rickety old bridge that you now just drive slowly across (and it makes creaking sounds) used to actually tilt from side to side? I could swear that it really tilted and it really felt like you might fall off of that bridge if your driver didn't speed up! Anyone else remember this? Or am I crazy? ( I wouldn't doubt it!)

Next Visit to the World: March '09 for Princess Half Marathon Weekend?
Yup, I'm pretty sure that used to happen. I remember it being scarier the first time I went on (2001?) then when I went on a few years later. Although it could have been my age. haha
I was on it about a week ago and it did still tilt to the side. I think sometimes, maybe, it is not working.
Yup, I remember that too. I think they're so busy now moving people through faster that they skip over the rickety bridge without slowing down.

I remember that because my wife always grabbed the kids.
I don't remember it but if we go next time I will be sure to look out for it. It might have tilted but I don't remember. I could have just thought it was natural.

It definitely tilted. I was in the World in March and was surprised that the effect was gone. I don't now if its broken or what.
We were just in Disney last weekend and our family was chosen along with another family to do a "test run" of the Safari before it opened for the day. The bridge did in fact tilt from side to side way more than I actually remember from previous times. It hasn't done it the last few times we have ridden it. I don't know how they decide when to let the bridge tilt but it does still happen.
Oh it used to jerk back and forth so much, that I almost lost my son the year AK opened! We still laugh about that!! I agree that the effect is probably still there, but that they do not wait on the bridge like they used to in order to get more trucks through.

I remember it. That part was one of my favorite parts of the ride. I was sad when that did not happen when I went in April

Maybe it depends on how many people are on each vehicle and maybe it alternates. I'm thinking if it does it too many times it will break down. (That's just my 3 cents.)

The bridge does rock again, but not like it used to. Then again, the entire ride has changed. No more live poachers on the trail, and no dead elephant. Wow, Disney's getting s-o-f-t.
