The last MGM-Studios map

I wasn't sure where else to post this. For those interested. This is the last of the maps printed with the Disney-MGM Studios on it before switching over to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Does anyone know why the changed it to Disney's Hollywood Studios?

Because their contract was up with MGM Studios and after their issues back in the mid-90s Disney was not going to re-sign for use of the name or the Leo logo

i've got one of the personalized maps from MGM before the change and another of DHS just after the change. i just ordered a new set of maps a few days ago as well. i think i have in park maps somewhere around here.

The last day visiting the Studios before becoming DHS was on a Friday the 13th, in October, 2006. Contrary to popular superstition, I had quite a lucky time (School was out that day - go figure!) - one each of my Filipino aunts and uncles were visiting our family at that time and I spent the full day there with them, my ex-cousin, and my uncle. Many of the rides were walk-ons and we watched Fantasmic to end that otherwise ominous day on a sweet note.

I used to have the guidemap for that lucky day, but it's now disposed of, sadly...
