sorry I went dormant from here for a couple days, but going back to River Country for a sec, have you guys ever seen this: River Country - The DIS Discussion Forums - DISboards.com it is pretty epic
I still (somehow) remember that cake-castle from my first trip...it was cool to see it, but I remember being disappointed not seeing the actual castle design
The Epcot sign on Spaceship Earth= minusing; looked pretty cool, but that's about it; I like seeing Spaceship Earth in it's normal, original look
I just gave it a "like" on Facebook

I genuinely can't remember that overlay of the castle... even though I was definitely there at the time.
I quite like it to be honest. It's something different. What was terrible however was at the time they first began pushing Stitch in the Magic Kingdom and they hung toilet paper from the castle... evidence of his "practical jokes".
Can you imagine saving for years to take your kids to the Magic Kingdom for what could be the only time in their lives, only to turn up and see its very icon covered with toilet paper?

Checkin' In With Goofy
I put this up here as a minus because of the intro song. It sounds like a horrible midi file of a sixth grader that attempted to do a cover of the classic Goofy intro. Although, credit is due to the narrator. He's pretty accurate to the original narrator before they had a voice for the Goof.

I would. My DD must brought me into the "new" world and created me a FB, now I guess I should go on there and see what she did.I will have to go check that thread out, I've missed that one somehow.
I really understand the disappointment of not seeing the castle prior to cake.

One "leg" of Spaceship earth has been restored. Moving onto the rest. The Epcot sign on Spaceship Earth= minusing; looked pretty cool, but that's about it; I like seeing Spaceship Earth in it's normal, original look
That were painted oddly to match the monuments at the entrance to Epcot. Hopefully this is signalling their departure soon. I seem to remember like the stepping stones they were guaranteed to only be there for 10 years. (I think)

Absent of memory seems to make you neutral.
I never saw the TP in person. To me that is just awful imagineering. What was terrible however was at the time they first began pushing Stitch in the Magic Kingdom and they hung toilet paper from the castle... evidence of his "practical jokes".
Just watched the Checkin' In With Goofy. I found it condescending and self serving. Poor Goofy, hate when they do this to their characters.

It's difficult to form a valid opinion if you haven't seen (or cannot remember seeing) something first-hand!Originally Posted by HauntedGabe

True. I saw it first hand and now the image is forever burned in my mind. Had a great picture of the 25, along with the pink background. Outside of that, let's just be happy that it's gone and will hopefully be a lesson learned.
I vaguely remember seeing the cakestle first hand...I remember the gold Peter Pan figures better.
