It's not necessarily a complaint about the ticket price per-se, more the fact that it has been demonstrated time and time again that Disney is not necessarily putting those earnings back into the parks. What we as consumers currently receive is not their best quality. That, essentially, is the gist of the entire thread.

Personally, I don't blame Disney for not having anything major for the 40th. I probably wouldn't either if I was in charge.

The 50th on the other hand is worth celebrating.

i understand your point and do agree. many times ive been to disney and found certain areas not maintained well or in need of some tlc. but as with any large company, not everything can be done at one time. but i think they should focus more on updatin the parks and keeping everything pixie perfect instead of say putting more effort into other things that dont need as much

You hit the nail on the head. That is the true essence of this thread.

What they didn't celebrate that did dumbfound me was Mickey Mouses 75th Birthday a few years back. It all started with the Mouse.

Agree Wholeheartedly! They went through a slump in even general maintenance. Well worn paint, bushes at hotels not neat and trimmed and the overall lack of a new draws that made guests "have to" return.
Time will tell with Fantasyland expansion if it will be that "have to" return.

Will that coaster be a "must do", will the sea hold the interest of all age and s*xes? Of course there will be the initial run for the guests that have just got to get there to see each attraction and restaurant as it opens, but will it have the power to draw crowds of guests like Harry Potter and his Butter Beer?

Mickey gets a new portrait every 5 or so years. John Hench was painting them up until he was 95! Now Paul Felix paints them.

Ditto on the observation that while Disney Corp makes profits, not enough of it goes back intot eh parks. Disney has to walk the line between profit and reinvestment, but I think most folks agree more resources need to be put into the parks.

Disneyland Paris' 15th Anniversary seems like an odd year to pick to me.

Good shout. I've got it on a shelf somewhere but have barely flicked through it. Will have to change that!

Duffy does nothing for me other than the little paws are cute but not cute enough for me to buy the Duffer.

To me it is just a rip off of Build A Bear.

    Price Gouging.

My folks next door neighbors booked a 10 day trip to the world. They returned on day six, 2 adults and 3 adult priced children. Not that they were not enjoying themselves but had exhausted all their spending money and then some.

Booking through a travel agent and not aware of the costs of meals and drinks they were not prepared. They were in Hawaii last year and didn't go through the type of spending money they did in less than a week on food and beverages.

Now they are the "been there, not going back family."

did they not do a package that included dining? if they went through an agent that person should of helped them plan something reasonable.

it is true disney is ex*****ve. however, we must all remember, we choose what we want to buy and eat and spend.

sounds to me as though the travel agent was not much help to them...
